Cambodian Oud

Cambodian oud comes from Aquilaria crassna, primarily from the forests of Pursat and Koh Kong provinces. The resin profile is markedly sweeter and more dessert-like than Hindi — fermented plums, dried apricots, sweet sandalwood, almost no animalic element.

This is the easiest oud to love. A spray of Cambodian-based fragrance reads as warm, sweet, woody, gourmand-adjacent without being candied. Non-Gulf audiences often start their oud journey here — Tom Ford Oud Wood, Gucci Oud, and most Western luxury oud releases lean Cambodian.

Pairs beautifully with vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean, amber, and dark florals like rose absolute. Works year-round; the sweet dryness doesn't become cloying in summer heat.

Traditional Gulf use is more restrained than Hindi — Cambodian is often the daytime/office oud while Hindi waits for evening majlis. Supply is more stable than Hindi thanks to successful plantation cultivation.
